Sir Arnold Bax's maxim? "You should make a point of trying everything once - except incest and morris dancing."
Sounds more like Sir Thomas Beecham. Someone else suggests Oscar Wilde. Afraid I can't be bothered to chase it up any further. I once knew someone who was a keen morris dancer. Don't know about the other, though.
