A SAD DAY!

Yellow Duck has deleted the Duck Pond from the blogosphere!

Now we don't even have the nostalgic pleasure of revisiting those reedy mellow shores - an oasis of wit and wisdom.

No doubt he has his reasons, so I won't blame him though I think he is rather a meanie.

Sad......Yellow used to be fun.
Oh well......it's goodbye to all that.

Did anything good ever come from the First World War?

Usually, you can indulge in a bit of nostalgia using Wayback Machine.
And there are other archiving sites too. Nowadays, once it's on the web it stays and there is very little that can't be retrived.

Nostalgia was never what it was?
Was it?

merkin is right -- nothing, but nothing, can be 'taken back' now!

It isn't just YD. Mr Zhisou has gone into retirement as well. And neither Jose nor 1loneranger have posted on their own blogs for over a month now.

What's happening?

AN Early installment of what these Yanks call the "Dog Days," I reckon! (Or, in other words, further 'proof' of 'global warming'!)

Wook, Anthropologist of American Agriculture & Post-Modern Bucolium

(What in Hell /is/ the possessive of /bucolium/...Christ!)

I clicked on my link to the duckpond just before coming over here (just goes to show, I was still hoping for a revival of pond life). I was wondering about doing a post about it but you've got there first!

Shame, many good times were had there.

Meanwhile whatever happened to Frank Fisher, and one or two other Awkward Squadders?

Whatever happened to education?

Mr Kegs
The "Awkward Squad" was always an americanno(ist,hick.istitick)idea.

It was a military failure from the very beginning.

NO !! It was NEVER a failure.............and you know that !

Zola, correct.
You need more than a name - however catchy it is (and I am the slogan expert).
Political savvy and a bit of experience is a necessity.
Born to fail from a very early stage.
And foreseable.
C'estla vie.

Still doesn't answer the question as to what happened to Frank Fisher et al. Anyone know?

Big Pikey is busy doing other things. His own blog seems to have more or less lapsed. He had a big post in the Guardian's CiF last week about internet porn censorship.
