WELCOME - BUT KEEP IT CLEAN!

The Burrow Beadle writes:

Alas, Anticant has been too poorly to take advantage of the garden during this welcome spell of sunshine, but hopes to be convalescent soon. Meanwhile, he's on a liquid [non-alcoholic] diet and Ben and I periodically mop his fevered brow.

The Snug is spruce and welcoming as usual, so gossipy visits from regulars and other friends will help to cheer Anticant up.

But NO SMUT IN THE BURROW.

"Hey, Bud, how's it going?" That's southern Minneotan for I'm glad to read that your back in the game, or anyway kibitzing & kvetching to beat the band!

SPEAKING Of "in" and/or 'on' the game, here's a fun bit about a /gaffe/ of mine in primary school, when inadvertently I gave the game AWAY on a parental quarrel:

No SMU7 in the Burrow?
Give us anover one do.

" A welcome spell of sunshine"?
Sounds like our spirit of AntiKant is reading Harry Potter in bed under the light of a slithering sunbeam.

Beam me up Smu77y.

Just trying to kick arse here.
Anticant on liquid lunches?
What he needs is a good injection of meat.
Godamit our wonderful Antiranty will soon be writing stuff for the Harrogate Times.

BTW : It seems that our Anticant has been mentioned in "Private Eye" a few years ago. Can anybody substantiate this claim?

Welcome back to the Burrow, dear Zola - was being a demure social thing in the bosom of your family a bit of strain? Well, you're off the leash now - but the Beadle is assembling the stocks as a precautionary measure.....

Thanks, everyone! I'm feeling a bit more human today, and just about ready for some good red meat again.

Dunno about 'Private Eye' Wouldn't that have been rather scraping the barrel, even for them?

/Private Eye/, eh? Sink me,I've been outted! Sorry, Aunty, 'twas /me/ in '86 in drag as a lumberjack, stuffed in a canadian wool shirt and levis, in the Bakerloo train! Christ, there ARE no secrets!

small world it is.

SAY, Boss! You know, you COULD disguise all these smuts as RAISINS, in a bag-pudding. Tom Kitten's mum did, and you /do/ have enough of them from a shower like US!

Sounds very Australian to me.
But I like it.

HEY, Bud, how you doing? Over here it is just coming Noon and muggy like thugs! Grey and nine-ninths humidity. Out in the garden & over the flat fields hereabouts, the muffled thunder grumbles derisively to itself like tattoo-heeled Berber women veiled against the leers of the big city, and I hope that thunderstorms soon will walk stiff-legged over the prairie....

Tobacca on the road again methinks.
