There are no "rules" in the burrow Snug, but considerate guests respect their host's preferences.

Good Morning World it's a Brand New Day! well, I don't know about anywhere else but it is wild and wet and windy here........ and I don't like it one little bit.
Good morning, lavender. It's wet and windy here too, and I have to go out later on, unfortunately.
With reference to your comment on the "Listening for Wolfenden" thread, no-one is always in the mood to be teased, and when one is not it feels like tormenting rather than teasing.
My mother was one of a large family and her father, whom she adored, used to tease her a lot. When she asked "why do you tease me so much more than you tease the others?" he replied "because the others don't care!" Perhaps I am too like her.
Reverting to my "motto" for today, I consider it to be a matter of tact and good manners - concepts which I suspect you and the other "teasers" despise as outmoded but I, perhaps because I'm older, don't. I think that when I repeatedly make it clear that I don't really like being teased, good-natured guests to my burrow might refrain from teasing me. Otherwise, an element of malice and harassment creeps in.
Hello again Anticant : I have just tried to write around postmodern stuff on my site. I had you in mind along with many others too. No tease there. I was serious - too serious perhaps. But I would ask you to show the same respect back if you comment. This "anything goes" thing seems to have gotten you and you repeat this kind of thing without good reason. Thanks for listening. Said me piece I av.
That's a most interesting thread, lavender. I used the Jehovah's Witness example to 'Big Pike' Frank, when he was e-mailing me to the effect that it is QUITE IMPOSSIBLE to have rules on the Internet - while blithely ignoring that he himself licenses posters and commentators!
[Incidentally, we have a few Biblical texts in reserve which ensure that over-persistent Jehovah's Witnesses won't call again in a hurry.]
What I find especially intriguing about the comments on that blog is that the CiF managers are evidently up to all their old tricks, and people still go back for more. I haven't followed the site closely recently - too busy here - but I haven't seen a Georgina Henry spin piece lately.
Who said that you cannot teach an old dog new tricks. Now you are jumping through hoops ( at your age!!!). giggle giggle. Welcome to the circus always.
anticant is the blogname of a lifelong free speech and civil rights campaigner. A lot of his life since WW2 has been taken up with battling against cruel and over-bossy laws, censorship, censoriousness, and Nanny Knows Best types. Now elderly and in poor health, anticant hopes his memories and thoughts will be of interest to those engaged in today's struggles for freedom, democracy, and a more hopeful tomorrow.

I do try to be considerate, although sometimes my inner Loki won't allow it.
Good morning everybody. I am not going to tell you what temperatures are here so that no undue envy is aroused.
Minus 15 degrees C up here
must light another wood fire for the house.
Message for Toby Lewis: Having no other means to contact you, this is simply to let you know I've tried to post in your blog unsuccessfully.
Jose, do you have a google account?
If not post anonymously and say your name or try putting the other option down.

Zola: Thanks for the pointer. I've jumped through the hoop - I trust with due respect and humility.
Incidentally, I don't think the price of fish is unimportant. But it's not always relevant.

Zola, haven't you noticed I've been doing my Judy Garland circus thing since day one, frantically sweeping up the elephant poo?

BTW : When will you ever learn to spell. It is heffalump ( is it not?)
